“i have always loved the arts”
Meg grew up in Orillia, Ontario. After graduating from Interior Design, Meg worked in Vancouver and Toronto and then settled in Kitchener, Ontario. In 2009, she went to a mosaic workshop in Philadelphia that changed her life. There she learned ‘pique assiette‘ styled mosaics (mosaics from broken plates & found objects) and came home and began practicing until she became confident to begin large-scale commissions. Meg works from her home-studio in downtown Kitchener creating whimsical mosaics. She has recently begun to create her own porcelain tiles, house numbers, jewellery and pottery.
"many hands make light work"
Meg has created mosaic commissions in private homes and some outdoor, large-scale mosaic art walls often with the help of many fabulous community volunteers.
Some examples of her work are located in the downtown area of Hespeler Village in Cambridge, the 72' aWEsoME Wall at the Charles Street men's hostel in downtown Kitchener, and the Homewood Green (parkette) Art Wall in Kitchener to name a few.
Meg also creates her own original porcelain tiles, home accents and jewellery.
"create a life that you love"
It was Paulo Coelho that said, "Everybody has a creative potential and from the moment you can express this creative potential, you can start changing the world."
Mosaics and ceramics have definitely enhanced my life. Both are incredibly therapeutic crafts, and I would love to show you some of the techniques that I have learned.
How it works....you gather a minimum of 4 to maximum of 10 of your favourite people for a 2 hour workshop in my new home studio. Adult and children's workshops available.
